Can I get an invitation?
No, I don't have any invitations. Please stop asking.
How do I get an account?
Google Voice is currently in a closed beta period and they are not taking new members. However, you can sign up to get an invitation here: https://services.google.com/fb/forms/googlevoiceinvite/. Note that I have absolutely no idea when Google will be sending out invitations or opening the service to the public. As of this writing, they say it will be in a few weeks, but it has said that since its launch in March, so take that as you will.
But I need an account!
Try eBay--I've heard that some people have bought them there.
Do you work for Google?
