Always route calls through Google Voice

If you are the sort of person who uses Google Voice for all of your calling needs, then GV will help you route all calls through your Google Voice number. To do this:

• Press Menu
• Select Settings
• Toggle the "Always use GV" setting (to make it checked)
• Press the Back button to save your settings

Now, all calls placed on your phone (through any application, whether it is from Dialer, Contacts, Call Log, whatever) will go through Google Voice

Only call through Google Voice when you want to

If you only want to selectively call through Google Voice, then simply turn off the "Always use GV" option in the Settings page. Now, calls made from your phone will go through your normal carrier by default. However, if you place a call using the GV application, then just that call will be routed through Google Voice.

Create quick-call shortcuts

You can create one-touch dialing shortcuts to any contact. Perform the following from the Home screen:

• Long-press an empty spot on the Home screen
• Select "Shortcuts"
• Select "GV"
• Select your contact
• Select their number

And you're done! Now, pressing this shortcut will directly call them through your Google Voice number with a single touch.
